Through The Trees | Kirstin Carlin

Opening Tuesday March 28, 2017 at 6-8pm
Melanie Roger Gallery, Auckland

Commisioned by and exhibited at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery in late 2016, “Through the Trees” sets contemporary artist KIRSTIN CARLIN on a collision course with Frances Hodgkins. Interested in the familiar tropes of art history and image production, Carlin’s paintings both celebrate and unravel some of the painterly strategies employed by Hodgkins.

A full colour catalogue published by the Dunedin Public Art Gallery with new writing by curator Lucy Hamonds, accompanies this exhibition.

Please note our new address at 444 Karangahape Rd. We look forward to welcoming you to our new gallery.
