Te Toi Uku and Auckland Festival of Ceramics present – Te Ahi Pūmau

An installation by Ngā Kaihanga Uku – Māori Clay Collective. Featuring nine of the collective’s members – Baye Riddell, Rhonda Halliday, Davina Duke, Stevei Houkamau, Hera Johns, Dorothy Waetford, Amorangi Hikuroa, Todd Douglas, Carla Ruka and Karuna Douglas.

Te Ahi Pūmau is the inner fire that burns within artists; it is the enduring and consistent fire that cooks ceramics in the kiln; it is the drive into the future and the eternal flame from the past.
