Artists Alliance is organizing a celebration on October 20th, 2017 from 6pm to show our appreciation for the amazing people who have been involved in our volunteer, internship, and mentorship programmes over the last twelve years. “These programmes are certainly worth celebrating; not only do they help individuals advance their career in the arts through valuable work experiences and mentoring relationships, but they are also beneficial to the arts sector at large. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the chance to work with so many artists at different stages in their career.” Maggie Gresson, Director of Artists Alliance.
The location for this celebration has been generously provided by Objectspace. At 6:30pm, a curator from Objectspace will be giving the group a brief introduction to the exhibitions that are currently showing. These include: The “Company of Potters” by Ian Smail and the Nodsdale Kilns, “Midway” by John Yau and Kathy Barry, and “untitled (pending welcome)” by Raukura Turei.
We will also be launching a zine at the event, STYLE COWBOY, which has been produced by Artist Alliance volunteers and current Whitecliffe Fine Arts students, Lewis Bourne and Hannah Potbury.
RSVP’s for this event are essential. If you have been involved in our mentoring, internship or volunteer programmes, and want to join us for this special celebration, RSVP with your full name to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Event Details: 6pm, Objectspace.
Mentee Interviews: In addition to this get together, Artist Alliance is also commemorating our past mentees through a series of interviews, now posted on our blog. More mentee interviews will be posted shortly, so stay tuned!
