Persian born fashion designer, knitwear and textile craftsman, Areez Katki is coming to talk about his work, process and involvement in the current exhibition ‘Beauty is in the Street’ showing at Ramp Gallery.
PLEASE NOTE: This talk is being held in the fashion design studios at Wintec – Z Block, Alexandra Street. If you need directions email gallery curator – firstname.lastname@example.org
Learn from Areez about how he works in both commercial and art contexts and how he maintains his inspiration for his collections from the world around him.
Areez will present about his background and current work and will have time to answer questions. For more information or directions to the fashion studios, contact the Gallery Curator Wendy Richdale.
Areez recently returned from living and travelling in Europe and the Middle East with new sources of research and materials that he has been applying in his recent collections. His work that is included in the Ramp exhibition is an extension of his collection of works titled Peninsular, which respond synaesthetically to the environments and situations he has passed through on his travels. His works exist as meditations on place, culture and on the materials themselves.
